Dr. Mota graduated from The Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, NC. She did her residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA and Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship training at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. Her areas of interest include: women’s issues in GI, functional GI disorders including irritable bowel syndrome, esophageal pathology such as Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), liver disease and obesity, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis).
Dr. Mota is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. She is a native of Brazil who has been in the United States for the past 20 years and has found the perfect balance of nature, weather, diversity and community values in Florida which she is proud to call home. She enjoys travelling abroad and locally. On the weekends she you will likely find her in one of the Orlando Theme Parks or at one of the stunning Forgotten Coast beaches.
Her hobbies include baking, reading, and exercising. She lives in Tallahassee with her children.
